Soooo basically for some reason my sub conscious brain believes I was put on this earth to try out every single self tanner man kind created … or at least that’s what I tell myself because I buy waaayyyy too many of them! But I was feeling kinda “blah” about my st. tropez gradual tanner (still fab if you want a light glow) so naturally I needed to pick up something new. When I saw the word “express” I was sold. Between work life, family life, friend life etc. ain’t nobody got time for a six hour fake tan! The developing time of this tan is extra speedy. You can leave it on anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending how dark you wanna go. I obviously have been doing the 3 hours because I’ll always be a tanorexic at heart. Whenever the 3 hours is up, I hop in the shower and soap up and then BAM amaze balls colour! Seriously tho! I don’t think I could ever fall out of love with this one! Moral of the story is BUY THIS, USE THIS, EAT IT, BREATHE IT, LIVE IT, GET BROWN, LOVE YOUR LIFE! I am clearly way too pumped about this.
Ya’ll know I love me some white bedding. There’s nothing better than coming home to clean, crisp white bed sheets. It’s so inviting. Add to that the luxury of linen and you’re golden! Parachute has managed to create just that. A divine, luxurious sleep experience. The linens are designed in Venice, California + manufactured in Italy, which = ultimate coziness. The linens are available in two colours: white + fog (a light grey). A fab bonus is that all bedding can be purchased as separates; so you just buy what you need and you’re good to go!
Head on over to Parachute Bedding to check out their white linen launch! Hope ya’ll love it as much as I do! xo
Basically at this point in my life, I can’t live without this product. My skin is past the yuckiness that a retinol can initially bring on and it is honestly clearer than it has ever been. That doesn’t mean I don’t still get some break outs (especially if the odd night I forget to wash my face). But I can’t say enough good things about this product! My pores have decreased in size dramatically, all of my fine lines are gone (granted I didn’t have that many at 23), and my acne has cleared up a great deal. I think that getting on a retinol is a must no matter what your skin is like. Even if you already have great skin, I guarantee this will make it even better!
I’ll just go over my routine with this product once more in case you missed it in the last post. Also, some steps have changed. I wash my face with the Philosophy Purity soap. I have been using the foaming one in the summer time because I turn into a grease ball. So that takes off all my makeup and gets my face clean. I also use a face cloth to really rub my skin so there’s no makeup residue left. Then, I put on the Philosophy “Help Me” retinol cream. I don’t use a moisturizer at night, just the retinol. In the morning I have been washing with the Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash and then following up with the Cera Ve moisturizer before applying my makeup. Overall, I have just been really digging the Philosophy products. They aren’t irritating and they truly do what they say! Plus, the packaging is soooo pretty!
So basically, go out and buy this and use it everyday and just love your life!
Heyo! Hope everyone’s week has been good! Sorry that I have been so MIA! Natey had a hardcore stomach flu last week and since then I’ve just been trying to get everything running smoothly again which has not been an easy task this week!
SO onto the products! I have just begun using a night time retinol cream. The one I’m using is the Philosophy “help me” cream. I had heard this one was great because it doesn’t make your skin flake off like a lot of them do! I have very sensitive skin, which is why retinols have always scared me! However, I just decided to bite the bullet and do it up! For those of you who don’t know, Retinols help your skin cells rejuvenate faster and clear your pores, therefore helping with fine lines, wrinkles and things like acne and large pores. Since I’m no longer a teen but still have trouble with acne, I thought this was a great option. I don’t want to use an acne cream that is going to dry me out and make me wrinkly so this seemed perf for me! I believe most skin care experts recommend everyone over the age of 20 use a retinol, as it is just good for just about any skin woe.
Here’s how my first week using the retinol cream has been! I have used it every night before bedtime by itself. I don’t moisturize, just use the retinol. I heard they are more effective this way, but if you’re very dry I would use a cream on top of it just to be safe. The first few days I noticed small bumps forming all over my skin, especially where my pores are bigger, like on my nose. It was basically like the retinol cream was squeezing everything out of my pores. It was super annoying because I broke out HARD. This seems to be pretty common with retinols since their job is to cleanse your pores. So, if you’re like me and haven’t used one, you likely have some crap deep in those pores. Anyways, I am on the tail end of my first week now and a lot of the bumps have been clearing up. It seems like the retinol is drying out the blemishes much faster than when I don’t use it. So at least that’s a bonus! My skin is definitely still broken out, and from my understanding of this cream, that may last a few weeks. I’m just going to suck it up though. The purge just has to happen. But despite the break outs, I have high hopes for this product. My pores are already significantly smaller and lots of my blackheads are disappearing. I also noticed the fine lines under my eyes are less noticeable and my makeup doesn’t crease into them the same way it used to!
So overall, I’m quite happy with this product so far. I will keep you posted weekly until I have a final opinion on it. This way you guys can have an idea of what to expect when starting a retinol!
Cheers mate! xo
I am so dying for this cute company right now! Are these not the sweetest prints you have ever seen?! They are so perfect for a child’s room, no matter what their age! I have had my eye on quite a few of these for Nate’s room, as well as maybe the “American Buffalo” for my entranceway! The hardest part is deciding which animals to go with! I just love them all! The simplicity with the white background makes them great for any room décor! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these!
If you’d like to check them out, you can find them on Instagram at @theanimalprintshop.

Happy Friday guys! Have a great weekend! xo

With Spring coming I can’t help but want to do a complete over haul of my makeup collection. I love adding corals and golds and trying new bronzers for spring. Here are some of my favourite products I’ve been using in the last month.
Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: OKAY. I have tried A LOT of self tanning products, and a lot of facial self tanning products. Usually when I put self tanner on my face, it ends up looking dirty, muddy or blotchy. Just a very unattractive look all around. This product will NOT do that though! It gives you the most beautiful subtle glow (however, it is buildable for a more tan look). You just add 3 drops to your facial moisturizer and wake up with beautiful skin. It really does look like you have been in the sun!
Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel: Another Clarins self tanning product, because I just can’t get enough. I’ve been using this one on my body an really like the colour and texture. Because it’s a gel, it dries a lot faster and doesn’t leave you feeling “moist” for hours on end. If you apply this after you shower, shave and exfoliate you shouldn’t have problems with streaking. Also, it doesn’t smell the best but just try to get over it lol, it IS self tanner after all.
NARS blush in “LUSTER”: I bought this blush a few months back and haven’t used it much until now. I think it’s a great colour to compliment a tan, as it’s not very pink, but more of a deep coral colour. It’s beautiful for some added subtle colour on the cheeks.
Laura Mercier Mineral Powder: I used to be obsessed with this stuff back in the day, but for one reason or another I just forgot about it. I repurchased it after seeing someone using it on YouTube and I’m sure glad I did! This powder almost “blurs” your face. I know that sounds very odd but it really gives this beautiful glow without being shiny! I have been using the colour “classic beige.”
Stila Contour Kit: I had written an entire post on this product twice and both times there was some glitch and it was deleted, so I will be posting more on this product one day soon! This is a great cream contour kit! If you’re into cream contouring give this set a try! The brown is not “orange” and the light colour is a beautiful highlighter. I purchased the “light” kit.
Hope everyone is having a great start to the spring! Let me know your favourite spring beauty products! I would love some recommendations.🙂

I purchased my first anti-wrinkle cream the day I turned 20. I know it seems absurd and people are always saying “but you don’t even have wrinkles at 20.” It’s true … most people do not have wrinkles at 20. At 20 years old, I still got mistaken for 16. So was it crazy to purchase a wrinkle cream then? Probably. But guys, it is all about PREVENTION! If you are cautious when you’re young, it will absolutely pay off later in life. So here are my tips to slow the aging process.
1. Don’t smoke. This may seem like a strange tip coming from someone who writes a beauty blog, but really, I always notice smoker’s skin aging so much more rapidly, especially in women. My Mom was one of the few women of her generation who never smoked and boy, it shows. Her skin is seriously flawless. So just refrain guys, especially if you care about your skin.
2. Drink water. I want to start off by saying, I’m a huge hypocrite for this one. Some days I drink several litres of water, and some days I drink NONE. But it is great for your skin and health overall, so up the water intake! I’m going to try and follow my own advice here.🙂
3. LA MER. For those of you who don’t know, this is a facial skincare line. It’s ridic expensive but it’s worth it. When you see older women who have used this cream faithfully, you notice a big difference in their skin. It’s amazing! Also, a jar will last you forever. It probably works out to the same price as the cheap shit you can buy from Walgreen’s. I use the crème de la mer and it’s life changing.
4. Rosehip Oil. This is a cheaper, more natural alternative to the La Mer. However, it’s also a great addition to the La Mer over night. It’s an orange-ish coloured natural oil that is very moisturizing and known to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. I use this at night under my La Mer cream. When I use both my skin is incredibly soft the next morning. I don’t recommend using this under makeup as your will be mega orange and mega oily.
Hope this helped all you psycho 20-something’s like me who are scared to death of growing up!
